Dr. John C. Maxwell Voted the Top Leadership Expert by INC Magazine and the American Management Association
The title of this blog says it! Dr. Maxwell has been voted the top leadership expert for 2015 by these two prestigious organizations. The web links for these two announcements are found at the end of this blog.
I was in Atlanta last month attending training by Dr. Maxwell on his new and exciting program “The Essentials for Success.” What an inspiration to be part of the global launch team for this program to help all leaders in the marketplace “lift their leadership lids” to be a more successful person in leading and growing the relationships in their daily work life.
More than any other person on the planet, Dr. Maxwell has taught me “Leadership is Influence, Leadership is all about Relationships.” Observing, serving and cooperating with Dr. Maxwell and his world class team members has helped me grow as a global leader, father, husband and entrepreneur in Asia. We all cannot have the access I have had to be blessed by being part of the Maxwell Team both for corporate and non-profit work, but I can at least give you the Maxwell books that I believe can help you accelerate your leadership wherever you are leading across the globe. Go to Amazon, go to your local bookstore or library and get your hands on these books:

21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership. I have read this book many times at the beginning of each year to review which of the 4-5 leadership laws I need to practice to grow through my leadership challenges that year. A more in depth study of the leadership laws is called The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership – Tested by Time by James Garlow. He demonstrates the laws by the examples of famous leaders of history.

17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork. This book plays an important role in helping me be a better team leader in the nations I work in. Some of the countries I lead teams in are lower trust but collectively orientated. These laws of teamwork quickly build bridges for new team members or teams that are storming through difficult situations.

Winning with People. I might call this book the 21st century version of Dale Carnegie’s “How to Win Friends and Influence People.” Maxwell’s chapter by chapter approach has allowed me to quickly gain solid cross cultural advice on interpersonal situations where I needed help as a CEO, father, spouse, or mentor.

Today Matters. For many years, I have set out a number of yearly goals for my life. Today Matters has helped me accomplish these goals by reminding me on a daily basis of the 12 decisions I must make daily as a leader to grow in self leadership, healthy relationships to achieve my yearly life plan. Every morning, Today Matters for me to start my engine!

The 5 Levels of Leadership. This truly is the global handbook for leading across cultures. All leaders struggle motivating employees to change their attitudes and behaviors from that of compliance to commitment. This book has such been an eye opener, I have adapted it for training and growing leaders in performance management, coaching and mentoring, and even how to grow relationships with customers. The proof of the pudding is Dr. Maxwell has motivated and got commitment from thousands of leaders world wide to train over 5 million leaders across 190 countries.

Failing Forward. Many leaders fear failure and tend to despise others who fail. Other leaders become trapped by their failures and stop growing. This book releases you to embrace failure as a fact of life, a learning experience, and part of the process that leads to success. If you are frozen by fear of failure, or in the valley of despair over failure, have a read and get up and get ready to go again!

Road Map for Success. Many people wander through life like a pinball, bouncing from one circumstance to another, one job to another, one relationship to another without meaning, purpose, vision or strategy. This book helps one to get a focus on life and begin to live a life of exuberance and purpose. Very helpful for young people entering the job market, those at mid life, or those who must start all over again due to a layoff or life crisis.
Let Dr. Maxwell help you by his insightful, practical writing as he has helped me. Get at least one of these books, read, absorb, apply his wisdom and grow as a leader.
