Improve Yourself as a Leader With the 5 Swings of the Axe

In the previous post, we have shared with you the Personal Leadership Growth Plan 2016 to help you plan and ELAvate your growth as a leader in the new year. And one way, if not the best way, to grow is to change and improve ourselves. However, you cannot expect to achieve big changes and improvements overnight. So why not, let’s evaluate ourselves and start by making small, incremental changes in our daily lives?

I thank Dr John Maxwell for teaching me this principle of “the 5 Swings of the Axe”. Take it as chopping that big tree in your backyard with an axe. You can’t possibly chop it down in a day’s work, but if you give a few swings on the trunk everyday, the tree will eventually fall.

In the video below, I share with you my personal 5 swings that help me improve myself in my personal life, but more importantly as a leader to my company, colleagues and the people around me. Use it as a guideline, create your own 5 swings, start making small changes in your lives, and improve yourselves in your leadership journey.

Have a good year growing as leaders!
