How would you rate your leadership success in 2023? Did you grow and nurture healthy relationships across your organization? How were your enjoyment levels in your daily life with family, work, and community? Any lessons from failing forward?

I have found most corporate leaders and entrepreneurs try to balance their life by placing their revenue target on one end of the life see saw and on the other end family, health, hobbies and what appear to less important aspects of life. If this sounds like you, read on how you can use our ELAvate 2024 Lego House Life Goal Sheet to plan out holistic life goals for a more successful satisfying 2024.

Rather than being just “balanced” better to be “wholesome.” Life goals are like Lego building blocks that lead to a “home” or environment that provides meaning, comfort, success and enjoyment in 2024.

The foundation of your “Lego house” are the building blocks you live by to be an authentic leader with your daily relationships. Having a strong set of values you live by protects you from collapse during the stressful “earthquakes” that can shake your world. And it gives hope and stability to those who look to you to lead.

The “Lego house” roof is made of your healthy relationships found in family, friends, work and community. When storms of life hit, you can take shelter, care and compassion from those who love and believe in you.

The Lego building blocks that rest on your “values foundation” and are covered by your “roof of relationships.” What are the Lego blocks that represent the goals and aspirations of a balanced life in 2024? Let’s review the Lego goals below or download the 2024 Lego Life Goal Sheet here:

Your Values. Identify the values you live by. It is good if you write out a value statement to describe each value that gives a ethical compass to live by.

Family & Relationships. What goals as a spouse, parent, friend and colleague do you need to set in 2024 to grow and nurture healthy relationships? Do you need to possibly set boundaries for toxic or unhealthy relationships? If you have children, have a realistic goal to spend quantity time with them. And…. continue to date your spouse!

Career & Work. This is one we normally “ace” when we plan. Set three goals that will lead to career success around your job, your KPI’s, and your advancement. There may also be a goal of finding a new career or organization to work for!

Generosity & Volunteerism. Many have been kind and generous to you. How can you “pay it forward” this year with your resources, time or skill? Volunteer and give to people and organizations you think make a difference.

Leadership Growth. We all are leaders in some capacity at work and  maybe as parents so how will you grow your leadership this year? Books to read, courses to attend, projects to take on? Identify what areas you want to grow in. Maxwell’s book the 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth may be a good place to start.

Health & Fitness. Don’t just make these goals that burn out in January or February. Set goals that physically give you resilience in your mind and body. Exercise, healthy eating, mindfulness, and of course…..enough solid deep sleep!

Finances & Budgeting. I personally have a monthly budget and a simple savings plan. What about you? This Lego block can also include protection – health and life insurance. Finally, do you need to have a financial planner to guide you with achieving financial success?

Learning & Personal Growth. What areas may you want to grow in that bring you personal enjoyment and satisfaction? What new hobbies may you want to study?

What to Unlearn. Bad habits are learned. What bad habits do you need to jettison this year for a better life?

Spiritual Growth. This can be a very important Lego block for some of you. Determine if needed where you may need to strengthen your spirituality with specific actions. For example, meditation and prayer, daily morning quiet time, or just starting a gratitude list.

Holiday & Vacation. Reflect…..did you use up all your holiday time to recharge and refresh in 2023? In 2024, set the dates and places to take your holidays with family and or friends. Pencil these dates in. block them off and take the holidays you deserve!

Out of the Box. Any outrageous or far-out goals for 2024? Climb that mountain, run that marathon, bungee jump, do something new and challenging! Quit your job and take a sabbatical! Stretch yourself!

You can download our 2024 Lego Life Goal Sheet here. For each Lego Life goal, jot down keywords, reflect over the holidays, and then flesh out your 2024 life goals to be  SMART - specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time bound! Measure them at the end of every month in 2024 and make adjustments as needed to have your best year ever!
