Sales People Know How to Enjoy Life - Like the "The Super Salesman"

Sales people are creative, fun people. They enjoy life. Sometimes though they get so wound up and focused on their targets and goals, they develop "target fixation." This can be deadly.

Wikipedia describes it with my "sales" editing:

Target fixation is an attentional phenomenon observed in Sales People in which theSales Person becomes so focused on their Target that their awareness of relationships, hazards or obstacles diminishes. The phenomenon is most commonly associated with scenarios in which the observer is in control of a high-speed vehicle or A High Potential Customer or Massive Sales Target

In such cases, the observer may fixate so intently on the target that they will not take necessary action to avoid it, thus colliding with it. Collisions in Sales Talk can be blowing the sale, burnout, or ruining relationships just to get the sale or meet your target.

The term target fixation was used in World War II fighter-bomber pilot training to describe pilots flying into targets during a strafing or bombing run.

One way to avoid "Target Fixation" is to enjoy life, take time out and have some fun. The ELAvate team did recently!

Recently, Aldrich 蔡友成 of Atcoustic and myself produced our first ELAvate Sales Music Video called "Super Salesman."

We all took a break from our day to day "targets and tasks"  just to have an enjoyable, creative and refreshing time. About 15 of us comprised of sales people, musicians, dancers, technicians and even a make up artist got together for this shoot. We found "Teamwork makes the fun video work."

The music for this You Tube Video was inspired from the song "Secret Agent Man"written by PF Sloan and sung by Johnny Rivers. It was a big hit around the time James Bond came on the global scene.

Have some fun, relax, and enjoy by clicking on the link below to view the entertaining "Super Salesman” video. Remember successful salespeople take fun breaks to avoid target fixation and potential burnout! Take a break and enjoy now.

As members of the ELAvate Sales Blog, you are entitled to use this video for your sales meetings, sales training or motivational session. Rock with your sales teams!
