It’s That Time of Year: Set Your Leadership Goals for a Wholesome Life in 2026!

By Michael J Griffin

3-minute read

As we move towards 2026, may you begin to review your successes and failures of 2026 and then focus on your goals for a better, more wholesome 2026. This year, I have “remodeled” the “Lego Goal House” I have sent out to you over the past years for a new Lego Goal House for 2026. Hopefully this Lego House Goal Sheet will help you to better prioritize your life activities and goals to lead a less stressful, more wholesome life in 2026.

Assume the activities in your daily life move you from “room to room” in your Lego Goal House. Each room can be viewed as an important priority area in your life. Your Lego Goal House has twelve rooms that you move to and from in your daily life. Some rooms may be bigger (more  important or more goals) that other rooms.

Hopefully, your daily life, like a well-built home,  is built with a firm foundation and a protective roof: the foundation are the values you live by as an authentic leader; the roof is your life mission you want to achieve for Win3 successful outcomes by the end of 2026 – a win for you, a win for your relationships, and a win for your organization,  country or society you work/live in. With a firm foundation and clear life mission, you are more likely to be successful in 2026. I have found that having my values and life mission as focused and clear, it is easier to say “No” to activities that may zap my effort and energy. Note that I have achieved 84% of my life goals across the 12 “rooms” of my life in 2025.

With a personal, clear written values and mission, you can then have more focused goals as you move between the “rooms” of your life. Remember each room will have “Lego Blocks or Goals.”

The 12 Rooms of Your Life
Family Relationships
Friends and Relationships
Career & Work
Generosity and Volunteerism
My Leadership & Coaching
Health & Fitness
Finance & Budgeting
Learning & Personal Growth
What to Unlearn & Give up
Spiritual Growth
Holiday and Vacation
Out of the Box Crazy Ideas

Please remember having goals for each “room” can allow you to have a more wholesome, less stressful life. It is not about life balance but wholesomeness. Would you want a half built house? Same with your life – create a wholesome life!

I have given you examples of my Lego Blocks for My Health and Fitness for 2026. They are found on the Lego House Goal Sheet. Remember your goals for each “room” should be specific, observable or measurable. As Zig Ziglar said, “If you aim at nothing, you are sure to hit it!”

How to Use the Lego House Goal Sheet

I suggest you use the Lego House Goal sheet to jot down goals in the form of key words. The sheet allows you view all your important areas of your life on one sheet. After filling it out, sleep on it for a few days by reflecting and thinking about the future in 2026. You then can move these Rooms and Goals to an MS Word document and then write out the specific goals in detail for 2026. Finally, share them with your spouse, coach or mentor to gain feedback. By January 1st you will be ready to “Blast Off” for a more enriching wholesome life in 2026!
