Values to Lead by from Dr. John Maxwell

By Michael J Griffin

Over the past three days, I have been participating in the John Maxwell Team (JMT) conference in Orlando, Florida. Learning from Dr. John Maxwell is always a positive “lid lifting” experience that inspires me to lead better starting with my self-leadership then to lead others to make the world a better place.

John remined us of the “values to live by” as JMT’ers and I want to give them to you as well. As you read them, reflect and score yourself or your organization on a scale of 1 to 10  how well these values are consistently practiced in your work environment:

Value People

Have a Positive Attitude

Grow Yourself

Lead by Example

Live Intentionally

Exceed Expectations

Be Consistent

Equip Others

Be a Catalyst of Transformation

Allow Room for Failure

You might want to ask your team members to rank them as well to identify what values are practiced well and those that need improvement. From this feedback, brainstorm with your team on specific ways/behaviors the team can practice these values on a daily basis.

Doing this ranking, feedback with action steps on a monthly or quarterly basis will definitely motivate and inspire your team to grow and exceed expectations.

JMT now has 40,000 trainer coaches across 120 countries. Dr. Maxwell Team will grow you beyond your expectations as a leader of influence to transform your world!

If you found these JMT values useful and want to learn more about John Maxwell Team, contact me at no obligation.
