Successful Sales People Practice Intentional Living
Last week Dr. John Maxwell came to Singapore and Jakarta. I was inspired, blessed and motivated to reach new levels of success and significance as a leader, B2B sales manager, father, and coach of young leaders listening to John being intentional to grow all of us in his seminars.
Here’s the latest update on John. He has now sold over 25 million books on leadership, he is a top 25 Amazon author, his organizations have trained 6 million leaders in all 192 countries of the world, and he is 69 years old, still going strong. Why? Because John has been “intentional” with passion and purpose all his life.
Even though John has never written a book on “sales,” the pages of his books speak clearly and concisely to us as B2B sales people and sales coaches about communication, serving others, adding value, and building healthy relationships. It is easy to translate his leadership wisdom found in the pages of his books to become a better sales person, because you and I know all successful sales people at heart are relational leaders in knowledge, skill and process to serve to add value to help our customer’s be successful.
John’s latest book is called “Intentional Living.” This book will go down as a classic for it teaches us how to become intentional in our daily life to be not just successful but significant.
John says, “ Every person (including sales people!!) wants his or her life to matter. You probably have a longing to be significant, to make a contribution, to do something noble and purposeful. The key to choosing a life that matters is being intentional. If you possess the desire to make a difference, place a high value on people, and are willing to team up with others, significance is within your reach.”
Last week, John spoke to well over 6,000 sales people in Singapore and Jakarta. The fastest selling book to sell out in both cities was “Intentional Living.” Why? Savvy sales people are focused on being “intentional” in their day-to-day life. Intentional in learning, sharpening selling skills, identifying customer problems, developing customer relationships, and being a leader of positive change that makes a difference for those we interact with.
I consider “Intentional Living” the most important book John has ever written, AND the most important book you should read this year. It’s half time, first half of the year is gone. Read this book and propel yourself into a second half of exhilarating growth and success.
No book review here, just the key sections of the book to motivate you to read:
- Your Life Can be a Great Story
- Why Good Intentions Aren’t Enough
- I Want to Make a Difference
- Doing Something that Makes a Difference
- With People that Make a Difference
- At a Time that Makes a Difference
I strongly recommend you read “Intentional Living” to add value to your life as a sales person, a leader of change, who wants to make a difference.
