Despite its increasing recognition in the workplace, emotional intelligence (EI) remains an often under-valued aspect of leadership. Particularly for women and younger leaders rising to positions of influence, its significance cannot be overstated. Navigating through a labyrinth of gender biases, evolving workplace paradigms, and diverse generational expectations demands a finely honed emotional acumen.

All of us are emerging from Covid for better or for worse. On the horizon, we see inflation, chaos, and the continual noise of negative and amplified social media. As you and I finish off 2022, I want you to reflect on how you have grown or possibly regressed through Covid and experiences of 2021 - 2022. The Covid Crisis. Who would have thought it would last this long! But the Covid Crisis is truly a terrible thing to waste. Maybe you feel “trapped” at the mercy of Covid induced circumstances out of your control. Trapped is what I could feel sitting in a three week quarantine room upon returning to Singapore. Entering the hotel quarantine room, I wondered how would an active guy like me will survive being trapped due to Covid.
